We’re heading back to Bolton for an afternoon of activities with BFI Doc Society.

Bolton International Film Festival is back for 2025, taking place 1-5 October and online 8-19 October - we’ll be there on Thursday 2 October for an afternoon of events in partnership with BFI Doc Society.

We’ll kick things off with a showcase of our latest films at The Light Cinema. After that, join us for a Filmmaker Roundtable with Joshua Reeves and Chris Lane (writer/director and producer of Softy), and Christian Cargill whose Howls to the Harbour was supported by Doc Society. If you have any questions for the teams behind BFI-supported projects, this is the perfect opportunity to ask.

This is an opportunity to meet our teams, find out more about the funding and career development support we provide, and connect with fellow filmmakers. Feel free to ask us any questions, or if you're interested in writing, directing, or producing across scripted or docs we’ll be joined by filmmaker guests who can share their experiences working on BFI-supported shorts.

Hosted by Benjamin Taylor (Talent Executive, Film Hub North) and the BFI Doc Society team.

This is strictly limited to 20 places and you must sign up to take part. Please do not sign up if you don't intend on taking up a place at the Roundtable.
