Lost Connections - our archive-based short film is a FOCAL International Awards 2022 Winner

We’re delighted to announce that Lost Connections has won this year's FOCAL International Award for Best Use of Footage in a Short Film Production.
The result of a unique collaboration between 12 of the UK’s Regional and National Film Archives, Lost Connections is a short film about our extraordinary collective experience since March 2020, told using the experiences of the past. Drawing on footage from over 200 films held in archives across the UK, Lost Connections presents a compelling story that explores loss, isolation, community, the joy of renewal and hope for the future.
It was produced by Yorkshire Film Archive and supported with National Lottery funding through the BFI FAN UK-wide Screen Heritage programme Changing Times as part of its New Directions season.
Editor and filmmaker at Yorkshire Film Archive Andy Burns worked with artist and performer Hussina Raja to craft a narration connecting the past with the present and interrogating the film’s central question: Can we always be connected?
