Tax Relief Workshop Helping filmmakers take advantage of creative sector tax relief
Ahead of our BIFA Showcase on Thursday, 13 June, our BFI NETWORK team are hosting a special workshop in Manchester for filmmakers interested in learning more about creative sector tax relief. We'll be joined at the Manchester Business Centre by experts from the BFI's Certification Unit and HMRC for a session covering how filmmakers and production companies can qualify for up to 25% tax relief on core expenditure spent in the UK.
Working as a group, we'll explore how to qualify for tax relief through the BFI's cultural test for film, how to claim money back from HMRC, when to access tax relief support and what it's worth when financing a project. Following the main session, our workshop leaders will be available for bookable 1-2-1 meetings with filmmakers who want to explore tax relief options for a specific project in development.
Places at the Tax Relief Workshop are free and open to filmmakers working in the North of England. To book your spot, please email our BFI NETWORK team with your name and contact details using the subject line 'Tax Relief Workshop'.
We're able to offer 1-2-1 meetings with our session tutors depending on the suitability of your project and its budget. If you'd like to be considered for a meeting, please also include your project title, a brief synopsis and a budget in your RSVP email.
If you have any questions about the event, you can reach our team via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or on the phone at 0114 221 0227.
