Ignition Awards are the fund for exhibitors who want to take their audience development to the next level.
They're for organisations who have the ability to pilot new film programmes, trial focused audience outreach work and build their successes into sustainable activity.
In 2018, we will be concentrating Ignition Awards on the areas where they will make the most difference. We're interested in projects that have the potential to resonate with local audiences by showcasing screen heritage programmes and films sourced from the North's regional screen archives. We are also looking for proposals that will grow audiences in parts of the region currently underserved in terms of independent film, specifically: County Durham, Cumbria, North Lincolnshire, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear.
Projects supported by Ignition Awards will be delivered over a maximum period of 6 months. Successful proposals should have ambitions to continue beyond the initial funding stage, delivering longer-term impact for underserved areas and screen heritage audiences.
