After more than a year of disruption to the box office, finding new ways of generating income has become a vital task for many cinemas, festivals and film organisations. That’s why, for our next online workshop, we’re focusing on Fundraising for Film Exhibitors.

Join our team and fundraising expert Ellen McGuinness from 11am – 12:30pm on Tuesday, 27 July for a session focusing on grant fundraising from charitable trusts and public sector organisations.

During the session, Ellen will draw on her extensive fundraising experience at the BFI and across the arts and heritage sectors to share insights into researching funders, telling your organisation’s story and writing effective funding proposals. Ellen will also discuss the differences between the main types of funders and how Covid-19 has affected grant funding priorities.

There will be the chance to ask questions at the end of the session. Points raised during the Q&A will also inform new fundraising resources for exhibitors that Ellen is writing for the BFI Film Audience Network. We’ll share these when they’re ready.

Fundraising for Film Exhibitors will take place via Zoom and is a “meeting style” event where all attendees can contribute. You’ll get the most out of the session if you have a reliable internet connection and access to a device that supports video conferencing. Automated captions will be available.

This session is for Members of the Hub’s exhibitor network. If you screen film in the North of England, or plan to start doing so, you can join the Hub for free.

If you have any queries, get in touch with our Audience Development Team.
