Location HOME

Our regular short film night returns to HOME on Tuesday, 19 April. As always, there'll be great films and plenty of post-screening discussion.
Curated by BFI NETWORK Talent Executive Ben Taylor, this selection will showcase the best of live action, animation and documentary filmmaking from filmmakers across the North. Picks include:
  • the bizarre Divination Dave from Georgia Madden, Jen Bradfield, Ian Fenton and Allan Campbell
  • the award-winning Hanging On from Alfie Barker & Hollie Bryan
  • Lost Connections a unique collaboration between 12 of the UK’s Regional and National Film Archives
  • Louisa Rose Mackleston's Ruth & Safiya which explores friendships in unlikely places, challenging stereotypes, and the power of community
  • Marcus a short sweet rom-com with a black history twist from Joshua Reeves and Angie Daniell
  • Please Introduce Yourself an exploration of the difficulties facing a young person on the cusp of adulthood as she wrestles with her own identity from Else Hunter-Weston and Caoilfhionn MacEoin-Manus
  • Liam White and Larry Ketang's Punchdrunk where a man’s life begins to unravel in a café in Marseille, when his lunch is disturbed by a chatty stranger.

Filmmakers in attendance will have the opportunity to chat with our BFI NETWORK team about the support available through our talent development schemes. It's a great opportunity to meet the growing community of local filmmakers, share stories and meet future collaborators.
Come down, watch some brilliant shorts and support exciting work from emerging UK talent.
