A night of queer short films, conversation and connection - coming to a screen near you.

We’re excited to introduce In the Mix – our new touring short film night bringing together bold, brilliant stories from Northern filmmakers. Expect a curated programme of great short films, a filmmaker panel and Q&A, and an informal mixer to meet the people behind the films, connect with local creatives, and get In the Mix!

This programme’s focus is on queer stories - those that are funny, tender, messy, provocative, frightening and deeply human. From forbidden feelings and complicated families to toxic love, identity, desire and the unexpected places we find each other, these films put queer voices front and centre. We hope to see you on the road!

Before I Do

All the Lights Still Burning
Dir. Dominic Leclerc / 2023 / Drama
A love story about missed chances, set over one night in the beautifully savage landscape of Bradford. Musa and Mo have not seen each other in years. A chance encounter takes them on a journey through the city - late at night, which unearths a series of secret revelations and forbidden feelings...

In the Mix is presented by Film Hub North, supported by BFI NETWORK and National Lottery funding.

Every film in this programme has been supported by the BFI NETWORK England Short Film Fund, which helps fund the production of standalone fiction shorts that showcase new perspectives and original storytelling.
