Festival Strategy Workshop

Helping filmmakers navigate the festival landscape

Starts at 15 Jul 2019 13:30

Locations Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle

Our BFI NETWORK team are hosting a Festival Strategy Workshop at Tyneside Cinema on Monday, 15 July, providing local filmmakers with a chance to learn more about the festival circuit.
The session will be led by Festival Strategist and Programmer Liz Harkman (Bristol Festivals, Locarno Film Festival, Flickerfest) who will talk attendees through the competitive festival landscape. We'll be discussing which festivals are right for your project, how to put together a successful festival strategy for your film and what to expect when you embark on your festival journey. Liz will also be available for bookable 1-2-1 meetings with filmmakers following the workshop. And, after that, our team will be heading to a screening of the Aesthetica Short Film Festival Award-winning Film Tour for a showcase of some of the best recent work screened at York's annual celebration of short film.
