The Our North party comes to The Turnpike Centre on 31 August as Leigh Film Society present 24 Hour Party People as part of Film Hub North's programme of events showcasing Northern cinema.
Celebrating 40 years since the formation of the legendary Factory Records - the label indelibly associated with Greater Manchester's independent music scene - Leigh Film Society mark the occasion in suitable style with Michael Winterbottom's anarchic joyride through Manchester's modern musical evolution. 24 Hour Party People rips through the 70s, 80s and 90s in a playful, punky fusion of fact and fiction as Factory Records head, Tony Wilson sets about creating the sound of a city and a generation.
