Join us for DIY Filmmaking Challenge Showcase: a celebration of some of the best films made by young, Northern filmmakers as part of DIY Filmmaking Challenge: Unbound.
We're excited to head to Pictureville Cinema for this showcase, taking place from 18:00 on Tuesday 5 September. Tickets are free and available to book now.
For the past 3 months, filmmakers aged 16-25 have been making no-budget, micro-short films exploring stories of freedom and creative expression in response to the theme of Unbound. At this event, we’ll showcase the shortlisted entries and announce the winning filmmaker, who will receive £1,000 development funding to make their next short.
Our film line-up is:
  • Youthless - directed by Jordon Scott Kennedy
  • Hanging On - directed by Alfie Barker, produced by Hollie Bryan
  • AMPuTV: The Number One Star - by Georgia Madden
  • The Journey Home - by Noah Lei Underwood
  • Vines - by Taylor Clarke
  • Chump Change - by Frankie Currie
  • Saudade - by Darshan Gajjar
This screening will be followed by a discussion with Bradford-based Producer Hollie Bryan (Cosmosquare Films), local Writer-Director Jordon Scott Kennedy (Idle Work Factory) and BFI NETWORK Talent Executive Jen Bradfield (Film Hub North). The panel will discuss the process of DIY filmmaking, provide advice for filmmakers, and answer questions about the film industry.

This event is free (booking required) and open to all - including challenge participants, aspiring filmmakers and film fans who want to see new work from the region’s emerging filmmakers.
After the screening, there will be a chance to have a chat in Pictureville Bar, where local filmmakers can connect with peers and find new collaborators.
