HOME are looking for a Freelance Producer to drive forward the development of BFI Film Academy North.


Our colleagues at HOME are recruiting a Freelance Producer to lead on the development and delivery of BFI Film Academy North. Building on the existing BFI Film Academy activity delivered across the North of England, BFI Film Academy North is a new project that aims to help aspiring filmmakers aged 16-25 engage with film culture and learn more about the business of film.
The Producer will work with the project’s lead organisations – HOME, Showroom Cinema and Film Hub North – to develop and deliver a programme of events, masterclasses and opportunities for aspiring young film professionals. Film Academy activity will be delivered in-person at HOME and Showroom, online and at venues across the North through the Hub’s extensive network of film exhibitors.
Applicants should have experience of working in the UK film industry and managing projects with multiple partners in the cultural sector.

Job details


This is a freelance contract until 31 March 2022. The fee is £200 per day, working approximately 2 days per week.
The post will involve remote/home working, with negotiable onsite working in Manchester. Meetings and events will take place in various locations once restrictions are lifted, so an ability to travel is required.
The postholder must be based in the North.
