FAN is proud to unveil the new UK-wide season – Too Much: A Season of Melodrama - where audiences are invited to follow their emotions this autumn.
'Too Much' celebrates the visual excess and dramatic potency of a form of cinema which champions decadence over ‘good taste’. Tracing the form from the “woman’s pictures” of classic Hollywood to the heightened plotlines of the Mexican Golden Age and the restrained tragedy of Mizoguchi or Naruse, the season will encourage audiences to forgo restraint and feel something.
FAN members are invited to Watershed, Bristol on Tuesday 15 April to join the team and experts involved to explore how you might develop your own activity as part of this UK wide programme. This is also a chance to connect with other film exhibitors that are also interested in developing such projects.
The day is an opportunity for BFI FAN members to come together to explore the themes and opportunities as part of Too Much. You might just want to find out more about menu titles available; or would like to develop a bespoke programme in your location; or have an idea for a cross FAN project involving several exhibitors around the UK. Get involved!
Travel and accommodation can be covered by bursaries which you can request as part of the registration process.
