Film Hub North presents: The Miseducation of Cameron Post
A day of screenings and discussions
Starts at

Location
Showroom Cinema
Film Hub North and BFI NETWORK are excited to present a special preview screening of The Miseducation of Cameron Post at the Showroom Cinema on Saturday, 28 July.
The event is a great opportunity for early-career filmmakers to get an advanced look at Desiree Akhavan's follow up to her 2014 breakout feature, Appropriate Behaviour. Akhavan's second film tells the story of a young woman who finds an unlikely community of friends and peers after she is sent to a conversion therapy centre for teens "struggling with same-sex attraction" - it scooped the Sundance Grand Jury Prize earlier in 2018 and is released in the UK in late-August.
Screening alongside The Miseducation of Cameron Post are two shorts from emerging UK talents: Abena Taylor-Smith and Loran Dunn's Ladies Day and Dionne Edwards and Georgia Goggin's We Love Moses.
After the screenings, we'll welcome Taylor-Smith, Dunn, Edwards and Goggin for a panel discussion chaired by cultural producer and writer Chardine Taylor Stone. The panel will discuss their work, the representation of LGBTQ+ figures on screen and their place in the industry.
We'll finish the evening in the Showroom's bar, where you'll have a chance to meet fellow filmmakers and future collaborators, and to catch up with Film Hub North's Talent Executives who'll be there to advise you on the funding and support available for your projects through BFI NETWORK.
