Ahead of our BIFA Showcase on Thursday, 13 June, our BFI NETWORK team are hosting a special workshop in Manchester for filmmakers interested in learning more about creative sector tax relief. We'll be joined at the Manchester Business Centre by experts from the BFI's Certification Unit and HMRC for a session covering how filmmakers and production companies can qualify for up to 25% tax relief on core expenditure spent in the UK.
Working as a group, we'll explore how to qualify for tax relief through the BFI's cultural test for film, how to claim money back from HMRC, when to access tax relief support and what it's worth when financing a project. Following the main session, our workshop leaders will be available for bookable 1-2-1 meetings with filmmakers who want to explore tax relief options for a specific project in development.
