Supporting filmmakers across the North

Introducing our new BFI NETWORK Talent Executive.

We're pleased to announce Jen Bradfield as our new BFI NETWORK Talent Executive.
Jen is well-placed to deliver the support the region's filmmakers need; she brings extensive talent development experience to the role, and has previously served as the Hub's part time Talent Executive and, most recently, our Talent Producer. Jen is based out of our Newcastle office and will work with the Hub's wider team across the North.
Here's what Jen had to say about her new role:

It’s a privilege to develop the work I’ve been doing with Film Hub North, and continue to collaborate with a team that's passionate about film in region. The organisation plays an important role in the North’s thriving screen industries, supporting them to grow in a way that reflects the wealth of talent we have in our region. I’m excited to have the opportunity to discover new voices and nurture them through the Hubs training and funding programmes, and beyond. I’m looking forward to helping to deliver the new BFI Screen Culture 2033 strategy, and to build on the brilliant work of my predecessor, Roxy McKenna.

Jen Bradfield

Over the last 15 years, Jen has worked across short and feature film development, television development and digital innovation.
Whilst at Film Hub North, she has led filmmaker development programmes at Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Leeds International Film Festival, as well as managing the launch of the Hub's BFI Film Academy programmme for aspiring filmmakers aged 16-25.
Jen has also worked for North East Screen as Talent and Professional Development Manager, helping to develop a sustainable infrastructure for production in the North East. Jen managed the organisations development fund and was responsible for numerous talent development programmes delivered in partnership with broadcasters, local authorities and creative industries organisations. These included a large-scale multi-arts commissioning project for The Space and Sound+Vision, a film production programme which saw Jen executive produce music videos for SUBTRKT and Radiohead's Philip Selway.
From 2019 – 2021, Jen managed New Creatives: a regionwide talent development programme for emerging filmmakers delivered by the BBC and Arts Council England. During that time, she commissioned and developed 40 short films, 60 audio works and 2 interactive projects for BBC platforms.
Jen is one of the founders of Chalk: a community interest company focused on delivering high-concept cultural experiences for families and young people. Chalk has previously created immersive film festival CinePlay and MAPS, an Arts Council funded festival exploring Music, Art and Play.
