Join our insider member session to learn more about BFI FAN CON and get ready for Rip It Up!

For our Spring online member session, Lily van den Broecke (Senior Manager, Film Hub South East) and Ti Singh (Cross-FAN Programme Producer, Film Hub South West) will discuss the upcoming BFI FAN CON and Rip it Up, BFI FAN's new UK-wide season, now open for applications. This is your chance to learn more about these two opportunities, including what to expect and how to get involved.

BFI FAN CON, taking place at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle 7-9 September, is designed to help exhibitors connect with colleagues, learn from peers behind some of the most innovative BFI FAN projects, and discover fresh ideas for reaching and engaging audiences. Across two days participants will hear from sector experts and leading practitioners from beyond the world of film, all while experiencing the vibrant city of Newcastle.

The conference is for all types of FAN exhibitors, from small community cinemas and touring collectives to large multi-screen independent cinemas and landmark film festivals. The event is for anyone working or volunteering in any film exhibition role at a FAN member organisation and at any level of their careers.

The 2026 BFI FAN UK-wide season Rip It Up celebrates the evolving face of youth rebellion, culture and expression on screen in the UK. From the defiance of Teddy Boys, mods and rockers, to the hedonism of music and fashion scenes, film has captured the emotional intensity of youth in many forms. As the Southbank Centre marks the 75th anniversary of the Festival of Britain and 2026 celebrates 50 years of Punk, BFI FAN members are invited to join in this nationwide celebration.
