BFI and BFI FAN are partnering with Historic England to deliver a second round of online Carbon Literacy courses for FAN exhibitors across the Nations and Regions.

Historic England, and Heritage Building and Places (amenity society) have developed a heritage led carbon literacy course, which is now being rolled out to heritage organisations.

This specific course is tailored for film exhibitors working with heritage buildings.

Carbon Literacy is a great early step for individuals and organisations to start thinking about the changes we all need to make to reduce our carbon emissions.

This is an entry level, action focused, carbon reduction training, developed especially for the Heritage sector, and aimed at small, medium and micro-organisations. The course looks at the science behind the climate emergency, the impacts on Heritage, the policy positions nationally and internationally, and the co-benefits for Heritage in making changes, as well as examples of Low Carbon Heritage.

The interactive online course takes place over two days, via Zoom, with a documentary to watch and a short task to do before the first session. At the end of the course, you will be asked to make two carbon reduction pledges, and in return will be certified as Carbon Literate.

If you have any access needs, please get in touch with us at info@filmhubnorth.org.uk.
