Join us for a free day of conversation, ideas and connection with fellow film exhibitors from across the North. 


Hosted at Bradford's National Science and Media Museum, this event brings together programmers, festival organisers, and cinema teams for knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.

Panel: Programming for Children and Family Audiences

Debbie Maturi, Judith Crompton, Isobel Harrop

Debbie Maturi (Manager, Leeds Young Film) Judith Crompton (Family Arts Coordinator, ARC Stockton), and Isobel Harrop (Young Audiences Programmer, Showroom) will discuss the challenges and successes of programming for children and families, drawing from their respective experiences working for a festival, multi-art centre, and cinema. This panel will focus on programming for and engaging with 3-12 year-olds, sharing practical advice on curation, communication, scheduling and creative engagement when resources and time are limited.

Panel: How external programmers add value for established audiences

Bruno Castro, Amandeep Dhillon, Nuria López de la Oliva

Bruno Castro (Director, Imagine Futures CIC), Amandeep Dhillon (Director, Reeln), and Nuria Lopez de la Oliva (Founder and Artistic Director, MIRA Film Nights) will demonstrate how guest programmers add value to existing programming, how they bring new and different films to established audiences, and the ways that a guest programmer explores and understands context better than a venue hire.

Martha Cattell, Matthew Blyth

Martha Cattell (Co-Director, Scarborough Film Festival) and Matthew Blyth (Audience Development Officer, Arts Centre Washington) will share insights into their work developing ambitious film programmes shaped by the needs and interests of the local community. How can film festivals and venues instill a sense of place and pride, especially in areas where cultural provision is limited?
