A review celebrating the achievements of the BFI Film Audience Network and its members over the past three years.
From 2023 to 2026, BFI FAN, supported by National Lottery Good Cause funding, has brought more films to more places and more people across the UK. Over 1,200 projects have been supported, leading to over 53,000 film screenings in more than 1,600 unique locations and generating over 1.6 million admissions.
Reflections explores how the BFI Film Audience Network is organised through the eight Film Hubs spanning the nations and regions. It also shows how the Film Hubs collaborate to support members through UK-wide film seasons, the Spotlight programme to improve geographic access, and tailored professional training opportunities.
BFI FAN is driven by the passion and expertise of its member organisations in delivering brilliant films and events for their audiences. Through case studies from a member in every Film Hub, the report highlights how members have widened the choice of films available to audiences, supported efforts to improve environmental sustainability, and tackled barriers to participation.
