A new touring programme helping audiences across the North rediscover Jewish film together.
UK Jewish Film are heading Back to the Cinema with a new touring programme bringing the best of contemporary Jewish cinema to audiences across the UK this Summer. Following an online edition of the UK Jewish Film Festival in November of last year, the Back to the Cinema season marks UK Jewish Film’s return to in-venue events.
The Northern leg of their tour is supported by National Lottery funding from Film Hub North’s Film Exhibition Fund, and includes previews of upcoming releases, modern classics of Jewish cinema and favourites from recent editions of the UK Jewish Film Festival.
Already announced for audiences in the North are two events at HOME in Manchester. Here We Are, a charming road movie charting a fateful cross-country trip for a father and his autistic son, screens on Monday, 19 July ahead of its general release on Friday, 23 July. The screening is followed by a recorded Q&A with director Nir Bergman.
And Dolce Fine Giornata, Jacek Borcuch’s Sundance-winning drama about a successful poet whose idyllic life in rural Tuscany is upended after she delivers a controversial speech, screens on Tuesday, 31 August.
The Back to the Cinema seasons continues its Northern journey in Leeds with a screening of When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit on Thursday, 2 September.
UK Jewish Film’s Back to the Cinema programme is supported by National Lottery funding through our Film Exhibition Fund. For more information on how we can help your next project, contact our team or visit our Exhibition Funding landing page.
