We're teaming up with Northern Film + Media to host a special roundtable introducing local creatives to the BFI's latest funding programme: the Young Audiences Development Fund. Development Executive Harriet Williams will join us at Baltic 39 on Tuesday, 1 October to provide information on the fund and provide guidance to writers, directors or producers who are thinking of applying. After the main roundtable session, Harriet will also be available for 1-2-1 meetings to discuss specific projects in more detail.

Launched in April 2019, the Young Audiences Content Fund is a £57 million three year pilot supporting the creation of distinctive, high-quality content for audiences up to the age of 18. Both production and development funding is available for new programming to air on free-to-access Ofcom regulated television and online platforms. Supported productions can include live-action, documentary and animation across all genres, as well as short form work. Financed by the UK Government, the Young Audiences Content Fund is seeking content that entertains, informs and reflects the experiences of children and young people growing up in the UK today.
