Virtual Screenings for Community Cinemas
Explore new platforms from Filmbankmedia & YourScreen

Date: 23 Mar 2021

Location: Online

Online screenings have been one of the biggest talking points for film exhibitors over the past year. With venues closed and exhibitors considering how to engage audiences remotely, the cinema on demand sector has expanded rapidly - bringing with it new platforms, terminology and ways of working.

Virtual Screenings for Community Cinemas will explore how grassroots film organisations can experiment with online events to reach audiences in new ways. We've teamed up with our colleagues at Film Hub Midlands for this event, which will bring together community cinemas and film societies across both regions for a discussion about cinema on demand.

Join us for a chat from 2:00 - 2:45pm on Tuesday, 23 March.

During the session, we'll hear from two organisations who have launched cinema on demand platforms specifically catering to community cinemas. Leading non-theatrical distributor Filmbankmedia will take us on a tour of their Virtual Screening Room, and the team behind the YourScreen platform will discuss how they work with film societies.

After our guest speakers' presentations, there will be the chance to ask questions and talk with community groups from across the North and Midlands.

This session takes place via Zoom and will be a “meeting style” event where all attendees can contribute. You’ll get the most of the session if you have a reliable internet connection and access to a device that supports video conferencing.
