We’re looking for a BFI NETWORK Talent Executive to help us discover and support early-career filmmakers in the North of England.

Film Hub North supports Writers, Directors and Producers in the North through a combination of funding, training and community-building. We provide funding for short films and the development of first features, as well as a range of professional development programmes.

This role is focused on developing filmmaking talent across the North of England, and will preferably be based in the North East. The post-holder will collaborate closely with Film Hub North’s wider team and contribute to our mission of supporting film culture across the region.

Applicants should have a passion for film and experience of talent development in film, TV or a related creative discipline. More information on the role is provided in the Job Description linked below.

About the role

Job title: BFI NETWORK Talent Executive

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Location: Applicants should be based in the North of England, preferably in the North East. Hybrid / remote working is available, with office bases in Newcastle, as well as Manchester and Sheffield.

Employer: HOME, Manchester

Reports to: Head of Film Hub North

Responsible for: You will have no formal line management responsibility. However, you will be expected to work in a structure that relies on collaboration, flexibility, and the ability to operate as part of a team based in different geographical locations. You will also be responsible for co-assigning tasks to the BFI Network Events and Outreach Officer.

Key relationships: Film Hub North team, Showroom Workstation, HOME, BFI NETWORK colleagues

Contract terms: Fixed term contract until 31 March 2026, 37.5 hours per week (includes flexible working some evenings and weekends)

Preferred start date: w/c Monday 3 July 2023
