We’re looking for a BFI NETWORK Outreach and Events Officer to support our work developing a new wave of filmmakers in the North of England.

Film Hub North supports early-career filmmakers in the North of England through a combination of funding, training and community building. We finance short films and the early development of features, deliver an extensive schedule of events and creative development programmes, and champion filmmakers based in the North.

The BFI NETWORK Outreach and Events Officer will work closely with our two BFI NETWORK Talent Executives and act as a first point of contact for all talent / project enquiries as well as overseeing and organising events and projects aimed at supporting filmmakers in the region.

Applicants should be excited by developing film talent and have experience working in event management and communicating with a wide range of partners. You should have excellent organisational skills and a collaborative, creative mindset. More information on the role is provided in the Job Description linked below.

Job details

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until 31 March 2023. The salary is £26,000.

The Hub is led by two of the North’s leading film organisations: HOME and Showroom Cinema. The BFI NETWORK Outreach and Events Officer will be employed by HOME and will collaborate closely with both the HOME and Showroom teams.

The post holder must be based in the North with office space available in Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield. Some remote working is expected, and events and meetings will take place at various locations across the North. An ability to travel is required.

The preferred start date is May 2022.
