Film Hub North is at this year's Spirit of Independence Film Festival (SOIFF) which is taking place at Showroom Cinema in Sheffield. Filmmakers and festival-goers will have the chance to watch BFI NETWORK funded short films and catch our BFI NETWORK Talent Executive Ben Taylor on panel discussing how filmmakers can finance their next project.

How to Finance Your Film

SOIFF have invited three industry experts to answer your questions about financing your short or feature film. During the panel they will discuss three areas around finance:  how you can set up, manage and achieve a successful crowdfunding campaign; working with securing private funding and; working with BFI financing. You will leave this talk with the confidence and knowledge knowing you will start your next project off with a bang!

The panellists are our BFI NETWORK Talent Executive Ben Taylor, Director Debbie Howard ('Still Loved', BBC's 'Doctors') and Producer Lucy Percival (The Smoking Fish).

Shorts Showcase

Join us for a special screening of BFI NETWORK funded shorts from across the North curated by Film Hub North Outreach & Events Officer Amy Hemmer. Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with the BFI NETWORK team about the support available through Film Hub North. It’s a great opportunity to meet the growing community of local filmmakers, and support exciting work from emerging UK talent.
