Get involved in our new training programme for young film fans, aged 16-25.

Do you love film and live in the North of England? Want to learn more about how the industry works and develop your own screenings?

Film Hub North is looking for film fans aged 16-25 to join Northern Exposure Young Film Programmers, a new training scheme for young people who are passionate about film and looking to get into the film industry.

Northern Exposure Young Film Programmers will bring together a group of film lovers from across the North through a series of monthly online meetings. You’ll learn how the film industry works and what goes into hosting a successful screening. After receiving training from industry experts, you’ll get to take over Northern Exposure - Film Hub North’s short film night, which showcases the best of Northern filmmaking - and will deliver screenings at cinemas across the region.

In addition to group training sessions, Young Film Programmers will take part in one-to-one career mentoring conversations, and you’ll be supported to attend one of the North’s exciting film festivals.

Applications are open now and close on Friday 19 May 2023.

You don’t need any experience to apply, just enthusiasm. You can complete our short application form at the link below.

The training programme runs from May 2023 to March 2024. The first session, which you’ll need to attend, takes place online in late-May.
