Film Hub North, BFI NETWORK and BAFTA have joined forces to present Northern Exposure: Industry Day - an all-day event packed with talks and masterclasses for filmmakers. The first edition of Industry Day takes place at Showroom Cinema, Sheffield on 4 April. Passes are on sale now.

Aimed at Writers, Directors and Producers interested in making the leap from shorts to features, Industry Day will give Northern filmmakers first-hand access to the people making waves in the UK industry today. Confirmed sessions include a conversation with Blue Story Producer, Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor;  How to be savvy with your UK Release with Rachel Robey (Wellington Films); a panel discussion on authenticity in storytelling featuring writer/critic Simran Hans, Kim Tserkezie (Scattered Pictures) and more; and a Meet the Funders session with a difference, where decision-makers from the BFI, Film4 and BBC Films get a grilling from comedian Hal Branson.

We'll be announcing more sessions soon, including a keynote In Conversation event with a leading UK filmmaker. Also in attendance throughout the day are The Film & Television Charity, available for drop-in surgeries, and the team behind Truth & Movies: A Little White Lies Podcast who will host a live recording. And immediately following Industry Day, we've arranged for Showroom Cinema to host a preview screening of an anticipated upcoming British release - the title will be revealed shortly.
