Tish is an essential story of Northern culture. Set for release on Friday 17 November, the film is a documentary portrait of the life and work of Tish Murtha: the photographer who so effectively captured the impact of deindustrialisation on the North East’s working class communities throughout the 70s and 80s.

To coincide with the film’s release, we’re partnering with BFI Doc Society to host a Filmmaker Roundtable with director Paul Sng and producer Jen Corcoran.

Up to 15 filmmakers based in the North East will have the chance to sit down with Paul and Jen to discuss their work and the process of developing documentary stories. After the Roundtable, participants can claim a free ticket to join us for an opening night screening plus Q&A.

This Filmmaker Roundtable takes place from 18:30 - 19:30, Friday 17 November at Tyneside Cinema (Digital Lounge). The screening follows at 20:15. Places are free but limited.
