Widening Representation Open Call

FHN is inviting proposals from film hub members wishing to pilot ideas between July and December 2017 that have the potential to develop new audiences for your organisation. We are interested in hearing from members who have an innovative approach to audience development they would like to trial, and who are committed to increasing both on screen diversity and the diversity of audiences attending their venue.

Pilot Commission (awards between £5000 - £1500)

This is a limited fund from which we seek to support new initiatives in programming and audience development. We are looking for projects that demonstrate on screen and behind the camera diversity, and seek to reach underrepresented audience groups. For the purpose of this fund we define diversity to include disability, gender, race, age and sexual orientation as they pertain to the Equality Act 2010, as well as seeking to ensure that people from lower socio-economic groups are represented.

Before applying to this scheme we recommend members read the BFI Diversity Standards with particular reference to Standards A and Standards D. Alternatively email Sam@filmhubnorth.org.uk for more information.

Deadline is Friday 16th June, you will be notified of your proposals success by the end of the day on Friday 30th June.

Please download the application form and guidelines below. Please submit your application to Sam@Filmhubnorth.org.uk.

India on Film (awards of between £1000 - £1500)

The India 70 seasons include opportunities made available through the national BFI India 1947 year round programme, the film list can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. but FHN will also welcome programming suggestions put forward by hub members that reflect opportunities within their own communities.
