Adam Cutie reaches towards the hand of God in a scene from CUTIESAdam Cutie reaches towards the hand of God in a scene from CUTIES

Taking inspiration from the narrative structure of the Bayeux Tapestry, Cuties is a hand-drawn sequential telling of human history in all its horror and glory, culminating in our next evolutionary leap.

Theo Scott’s chaotic, kaleidoscopic animation recasts mankind as the titular Cuties: a species of habitually homicidal, doughy automatons who live - and die - at the mercy of their baser instincts. All while bearing a fixed, vacant grin.

Cuties asks: are we doomed to repeat the same cycles of discovery, development, violence and destruction within our societies? Is annihilation woven into the fabric of our DNA? Or will our next epochal step transcend humanity into a collective consciousness; a world-wide singularity?
