The world is changing and the film industry has to change with it. As leading arts institutions declare a climate emergency and funding bodies enact new sustainability policies, the onus is on organisations across the screen sector to embrace their responsibilities as agenda-setters and provide audiences with experiences that are both culturally rewarding and environmentally responsible.

With that in mind, we're excited to be partnering with our colleagues at HOME to offer Film Hub North Members free Carbon Literacy Training on Thursday, 23 January. This session will help exhibitors understand the impact of their everyday activities and equip them with the skills and motivation to reduce their emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis.

Led by experienced instructors based at HOME - the world's first arts organisation to train 100% of their staff in Carbon Literacy - this workshop consists of two parts: a film to be watched in advance of the training and the group session itself. By the end of the day, participants will have completed an action form that will be sent to the Carbon Literacy Project for certification.

Film Hub North is subsidising the usual cost of Carbon Literacy Training, allowing Members to take part for free. A maximum of 2 people per organisation can attend. Total capacity for the workshop is limited to 16 people, so we advise early booking via the Eventbrite link below.
