We’re excited to launch a new programme of events and opportunities for young people aged 16-25 as part of BFI Film Academy.

Join us at Storyhouse at 17:30 on Thursday 22 June for a preview of what's coming up in 2023 - including filmmaking competitions, masterclasses and short film nights.

We’ll also be screening some of the freshest work from a new generation of Northern filmmaking talent - including Em Humble's recent BFI Film Academy funded short, Chicken Girl. And our team will be around afterwards to chat with anyone interested in learning about BFI Film Academy.

Tickets are £3 and will get you a 10% discount at the café bar. Come along, find out more and get involved.

BFI Film Academy offers opportunities for ambitious young people to get to know more about film and how to make a career in the screen industries. The programme is open to anyone aged 16-25 in the North of England. No previous film experience or training is required.

This event will be photographed.

Filmmaker 1-2-1s

Ahead of the screening, local filmmakers can book in a one-to-one meeting with Ben Taylor - BFI NETWORK Talent Executive at Film Hub North.

Ben is available from 15:00 - 17:00 to chat about your work and the support available via BFI NETWORK.
